    Qualifications

    • High school diploma or GED required.
    • Georgia Paramedic certification required or National Registry.
    • Maintain current American Heart Association-Healthcare Provider Card for Basic Life Support (BLS)& ACLS
    • Must be able to obtain a valid Georgia Driver's License and maintain an acceptable MVR according to departmental standards once employed
    • Must be insurable by the departmental provider at the standard rate
    • Must demonstrate knowledge of basic & advanced life support protocols and principles as defined by national, state and regional standards.
    • Sign On requires 2-year commitment

    Fire/Medic 0-5 years’ experience as paramedic starting hourly is $15.77 plus the $3.00 per hour stipend when riding med unit.

    Fire/Medic 5 plus years’ experience as paramedic starting hourly is $ 16.84 plus the $3.00 per hour stipend when riding a med unit.

    Criticare Medical Institute –Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Academy is seeking a Program Director to facilitate all of its EMS Education program. This is a full-time position and the prospect will be a high-level educator responsible to design, develop, organize and supervise the new educational programs and curriculum for EMS providers. The EMS Program Director has primary responsibility and authority to administer all the levels of the EMS program not limited to EMR, EMT, AEMT, Paramedic and Paramedic specializations such as FCP, CCP, CCP.

    The Department of Fire and Emergency Services provides emergency medical services and fire protection to the citizens of Gwinnett County. The Department's mission is to save lives and protect property and we have a prestigious history of doing this with many significant accomplishments. As a valued member of our team, you will assist in the performance of emergency medical treatment, life rescue and fire suppression, and safety education to the public.

    The following positions are available with new education incentives:
    Salary will be based on qualifications and experience.
    $42,047 - $47,297     Starting Salary
    $43,308 - $48,715     3% pay incentive for an Associate's degree
    $44,569 - $50,134     6% pay incentive for a Bachelor's degree

    Incentive:
    $2,000 Hiring Incentive within first year of employment - This is for new Gwinnett County employees only (not rehires).
    Salary will be based on qualifications and experience.
    $36,331     Starting Salary
    $37,420     (includes 3% pay incentive for an Associate's degree)
    $38,510     (includes 6% pay incentive for a Bachelor's degree)
    Salary based on experience ($20-$26 hourly), up to 29 hours per week with no benefits.

    This position will assist the department's Training Academy staff and demonstrate knowledge and techniques of current procedures in the Paramedic/EMT field. The department's paramedic program is accredited by The Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP).

The mission of the Georgia Emergency Medical Services Association is to advocate for the emergency medical provider, develop educational programs, liaison activities, provider benefit programs, and improvements to the Emergency Medical Service System in Georgia.
