Dr. joseph e. simon & Jeff Hackney pediatric award of excellence

Please submit your nomination using the online nomination form link on the bottom of this page.

OBJECTIVE

The purpose of the Dr. Joseph E. Simon & Jeff Hackney Pediatric Award of Excellence is to recognize EMS professionals who consistently demonstrate commitment to a higher quality of care to the pediatric population in Georgia by serving as a role model for their colleagues, introducing and incorporating evidence based practices in their work, effectively mentoring all EMS practitioners so that they can give the best care to their patients, and to demonstrate exemplary dedication and compassion to the well-being of children.

This award is to honor an EMS professional who exemplifies how Jeff Hackney and Dr. Joseph E. Simon gave selflessly to others and worked continually to improve the care given to patients.  It is not a single call or day, but rather how the nominee daily gave of him/herself by learning, teaching, and providing excellent pediatric care.

GOAL

To ensure that those who work in the prehospital environment are aware of the effects that their knowledge and skills have in the overall positive outcome of Georgia’s pediatric citizens.
