This Train-the-Trainer driver education instructor candidate course covers the skills and knowledge required to safely operate emergency vehicles and the curriculum to deliver the course to other members in the emergency services field.
This course is offered to better prepare emergency vehicle drivers with the extra demands placed upon them while operating emergency vehicles. The class is designed to be interactive for the students and offers hands on driver training along with classroom activities. This program will lead participants through various scenarios that will force them to think about typical accidents and make proper decisions when reacting to them.An accident from apparatus responding to or returning from calls continues to be a major contributor of death to fire and EMS personnel. This Train-the-Trainer driver education instructor candidate course covers the skills and knowledge required to safely operate emergency vehicles and the curriculum to deliver the course to other members in the emergency services field.
This course is sponsored by GEMSA. It is offered to better prepare drivers to cope with the extra demands placed upon them in operating in emergency operations.
The course will consist of classroom instructions and 'hands on' instruction/participation.

We have implemented a SEAT FEE for GEMSA sponsored Classes due to the 'no shows' we were having the day of class. A $30 Seat Fee will be requested at the end of your application by Credit Card. After you attend class - within a 30 day period, you will receive a $20 check mailed to you at the address your listed on the your application (or reimbursed to your credit card) along with a small gift. If you cancel prior to 2 weeks of the class, you will receive a $20 reimbursement. If you cancel within 2 weeks of the class or do not show up for the class, you will not reimbursed any funds.
