INTERESTED IN HOSTING a GEORGIA TRAUMA SKILLS PROCEDURE LAB?

We are now taking requests for Host Facilities, but will speak with the Regional Councils or RTACs for guidance on placement of the Labs within the Regions.

Below is a list of needs required to host a Lab.

Registration area: minimum 250sqft air conditioned/heated space with table and chairs. This should be accessible at the entryway of the site (with electricity and good lighting)

Collection area: minimum 700sqf air conditioned/heated space with chairs for at least 75 people. This area is separate from other areas and will be used to orient and allow participants to dress in PPE

Lab area: minimum 3000sqf air conditioned/heated space. This space can be divided into multiple rooms (rooms should be no smaller than 20’ x 20’) or open. Hardwood, tile, or concrete floors are preferred; however, we can place a plastic barrier over short carpet. This is the area for the cadaver lab and must have air conditioning or be able to be cooled to 68 degrees (preferably cooler)

Break area: minimum 400sqf air conditioned/heated space. This space is for instructors and GEMSA staff to have food and drinks available during breaks. 

Hotel Needs: There needs to be at least  a 3 Star Hotel within 20 minutes of the desired Lab location

Other: other accommodations should include easy accessibility, free parking for approx. 75 vehicles, and bathroom facilities.
