EMS Instructor techniques i course

The Georgia EMS Association is currently accepting applications for an EMS Instructor Techniques I course to be held in Forsyth.

The GEMSA Board of Directors is pleased to announce that funding has been obtained from the Georgia Trauma Care Network Commission to conduct the EMS Instructor Techniques I Course.

We will be conducting two courses at the Georgia Public Safety Training Center in Forsyth - February 25 - 28, 2019

The funding will allow GEMSA to cover the cost of the course, lodging, and meals for course participants. Transportation to and from Forsyth will be the responsibility of the selected participants.  We will accept students who are presently certified to the level of AEMT or Paramedic into the course.

EMS Instructor Techniques I certification is a SOEMS approved course. You may utilize this certification to submit, along with the Department of Public Health – EMS Instructor License Application, for your Level II Instructor Certification.

The Instructor Candidates seeking the Department of Public Health EMS Instructor License Level II or Level III must complete the National Registry Assessment Exam (written & practical skills) at the certification level to which they wish to instruct.  (i.e. If you wish to teach AEMT then you must successfully complete the National Registry AEMT exam, if you wish to teach at the Paramedic level then you must successfully complete the National Registry Paramedic exam). Proof of this completion must be submitted with your Application to the Department of Public Health.  Your local/regional Medical Director will be required to sign and endorse your Application to the Department of Public Health.

The Instructor Candidate seeking a Level III Instructor Certification must have obtained an associate degree, 60 semester hours or 90 quarters hours of college credit from a nationally accredited institution to qualify for this Level.

Applications are being accepted through the following link:

Applications will be accepted until close of business on January 31, 2019 (or when maximum capacity is met).

Notifications will be made to all applicants as to their acceptance status by February 3, 2019
