The GEMSA Board of Directors is pleased to announce that funding has been obtained from the Georgia Trauma Care Network Commission to conduct the EMS Instructor Techniques 1 Course.
The funding will allow GEMSA to cover the cost of the course, lodging, and meals for course participants. Transportation to and from Forsyth will be the responsibility of the selected participants. We will accept students who are presently certified to the level of AEMT or Paramedic into the course.
EMS Instructor Techniques I certification is a SOEMS approved course. You may utilize this certification to submit, along with the Department of Public Health – EMS Instructor License Application, for your Instructor Certification.
The State of Georgia will no longer utilize Level 1, Level 2, and/or Level 3 instructor levels. An EMS Instructor License will be issued by the OEMST and an additional endorsement will be added to the level in which you teach and maintain. The GEMSA EMS Instructor Techniques 1 course meets all initial education requirements for EMS Instructor and the available endorsements. Endorsements require current National Registry Certification or completion of National Registry Assessment Exams at that respective level.
Should you have any questions please contact Daniel Warren or Cathy White.----------------------------------------------
This Program is made possible by State of Georgia funding provided through the Georgia Trauma Care Network Commission.
