2025 GEMSA Directors & Leadership Conference - Call for presentations

GEMSA invites those interested in contributing to EMS in Georgia to submit proposals for presentation for the 2025 GEMSA Directors & Leadership Conference scheduled for March 26-28, 2025 at Lake Lanier.  We will be specifically looking for topics relevant to EMS directors and leaders.

Submission Deadline: July 31, 2024

Submissions must be submitted online using the ONLINE SUBMISSION FORM HERE.

You will complete the online form, attach the required materials, and submit. Incomplete proposals will not be considered.

If you have more than one presentation, you only need to submit the online form onceAfter your first online submission, you can send additional presentations with titles, descriptions and objectives to program@georgiaemsassociation.com.

Items required on the submission form:

  • Presentation title, description, and objectives
  • Curriculum Vitae (CV)
  • Short bio (100 word maximum)
  • Publicity photo (jpg, 300 dpi)

Conference Information

This conference provides two valuable days of thought-provoking sessions for EMS directors, department managers, shift supervisors, and anyone else with the responsibility of leading a team of people.  Speakers should be subject matter experts who can challenge attendees and provide them with tools to exponentially enhance their leadership expertise.

Call for Presentations

The deadline to submit proposals is Sept. 30, 2024 for the 2025 GEMSA Directors & Leadership Conference. All proposals will be reviewed by the Conference Committee. They will be evaluated by the following guidelines:

  • Practical application of material;
  • Relevance to EMS in Georgia;
  • Timely or innovative topic;
  • Clearly identified objectives;
  • Overall quality & well-defined focus;
  • Availability; and
  • Type of Session.

Proposals that are not complete will not be considered. Notifications will be sent out after the review process has been completed.

Speaker Benefits

If your presentation is selected, you contribute to the advancement of your profession and you gain visibility and recognition as a leader in EMS.

Compensation - National Speakers

National speakers are from more than 350 miles of the conference location (Lake Lanier, Buford, GA) and present three or four lectures throughout the conference. Compensation is as follows:

  • Lodging, meals and travel are covered by GEMSA.
  • Speakers are given a full conference registration.
  • National speakers are also compensated a mutually agreed upon amount by GEMSA in addition to the above.

Compensation - Regional Speakers

Regional speakers are from Georgia or within 350 miles of the conference location (Lake Lanier, Buford, GA) and present one or two sessions. GEMSA does not pay regional speakers for their presentation, but compensation is as follows:

  • Presenters traveling 90 miles (one way) or greater receive one night hotel for each day speaking at the conference and a full conference registration.
  • Presenters traveling less than 90 miles (one way) receive a mileage stipend as specified at the current IRS mileage rate and a full conference registration.

The mission of the Georgia Emergency Medical Services Association is to advocate for the emergency medical provider, develop educational programs, liaison activities, provider benefit programs, and improvements to the Emergency Medical Service System in Georgia.
